Im using Invigorator 4.0 on Windows Xp Pro. My 3D element in mind and want to accomplish is a just a cube. However, I want this cube to have a glassy look...which means I want the background of my movie to be able to be seen from the "glass" of my 3D element(cube). How do i accomplish this? Any tutorial site? thanks in advance.

There are a couple of glass presets in the Material Swatches section of the setup window. It's pretty much a case of adjusting the material's transparency setting and Reflectivity setting. There's a couple of really nice tutorials on how to create reflectivity in glass right here on the Cow by Kurt Murphy - one is a cross and the other is a globe.
