Hello Media 100 forum,
Recently we inadvertently shot footage on our Panasonic HPX 500 camera in the 720p/30pn mode. Unfortunately, we are unable to import that footage into our Media 100 (v 13.0.4) editing system.
Is there a way to import the footage directly into the Media 100, or must I look for another work around?
Normally, we have been shooting in 720p/30p, and the footage imports successfully. What does the "n" mean. I've read that "n" stands for "normal." Normal what?
I believe the 720p/30pn imports just fine into Final Cut Pro. Thanks for your help.

Todd,
The 'n' stands for native. As in recording only the native frames to 30p (or 24p) instead of recording all frames into a 60i stream and flagging the frames to be ignored or removed by the NLE. For now Media 100 cannot deal with 720p30n. Really the only work around is to cut in another NLE or run the footage thru Compressor to bring it back to 59.94 (which is 30p with 2:2 pulldown).
The major advantage to shooting native is that you can get more footage on your cards since you are only recording those native frames.
