1080p and 1080i in same time line?
by Harry Newman on Jun 9, 2009 at 11:02:56 pm

My client has a project with mixed formats that need to be edited together. Is there anyway to use both 1080/30p and 1080i source material in the same time line? Or is there some easy way to convert them to conform?

Thanks,
Harry Newman

Hi Harry, you can try selecting 1080i 29.97 in the import window and checking "import media to the standard and codec".

Thanks Fermin,

That works fine. I forgot to look there, as I was hoping for a one-step solution.

My clients existing projects are HDV 1080i, now I need to mix xdcam footage shot in 1080p. I guess I will have to figure out a new work flow. Since I can't seem to find a way to bring the xdcam footage through Xdcam Transfer, within the media 100.

So everything has to be imported twice. Unless I just use the Xdcam Transfer program to unwrap the clips outside of the media 100. Then use "import media to the standard and codec".

Is there anything I am missing? An easier way to do this?

Thanks,
Harry

[Harry Newman] "Is there anything I am missing? An easier way to do this? "

This should be improved in the net release of Media 100 Suite
