Output to BetaSP

I have a Media100HD v12 and want to output to a Ampex CVR70 BetaSP (with built in TBC). I can't get sync (the picture drifts horizontally). Do I need an external TBC, blackburst generator. Looking for a low cost solution IF possible.

Try hooking Y to ref in then loop ref out into Y output on deck.

I meant to Y input not output on deck.
