M100HD-new AJA drivers
by Matt Jones on Aug 20, 2008 at 2:28:32 pm

I'm running Media100HD 12.7.1 on Mac 8 core with OS 10.5.3. I have an AJA LHe board. Should I update to the new AJA LHe drivers?

The new (V6) Aja drivers are currently not supported with Media 100. So you should avoid installing them on a Media 100 V12.7.1 system

Thanks Floh.

Does that mean that they won't work or haven't been tested?

If they won't work, is M100 or AJA working on new M100HD compatible drivers? When are they expected?

As far as I know they won´t work. Aja did release the final drivers yesterday, so I would guess the guys at Media 100 are looking at them right now...

Oh yeah, we're looking at it all right. It WILL NOT work with v12.7.1. I don't mean won't work correctly, I mean that Media 100 won't recognize the driver and will tell you that you're hardware is not installed so hold off on it for now.

Hmmm...

Looking back at it, the way I wrote that makes it seem like it caught us off guard and it's a complete mess.

The fact is that we've been testing a "future version" of Media 100 with a Beta version of the new AJA driver for some time now. We're quite happy with the way it's going and have been anxiously awaiting the official release of the new driver. We will have something to say very soon about a release of our software that works with the new driver.
