Lens shade/filter holder for Century Double Asphere

	Lens shade/filter holder for Century Double Asphere by Marshall Ewig on Nov 6, 2009 at 4:35:00 pm This shade and filter holder is designed to fit over the front of the Double Asphere wide angle adapter once marketed by Century (now part of Schneider Optics). That adapter was used on 2/3" broadcast lenses. I bought a Double Asphere and this shade/filter holder directly from Century a few years back.When I decided to sell them, I couldn't locate the shade and only sold the DA adapter. The shade has now been found.. This shade (made of plastic composite) and filter holder (very lightweight aluminum or magnesium) is in virtually new condition; it saw very little use (see actual pics below). The filter holder accepts 4 x 5.65" filters, and holds them securely with a spring-loaded clamp. This shade may fit on a few of the current lens adapters in the Century line (http://www.schneideroptics.com/century/index.htm), but you'd have to check with them to be sure. Notice the unique shape of the clamping section. Obviously this must mate with the lens accessory. This part can be removed from the shade itself and presumably replaced with another size/shape clamp. Century shows a very similar looking shade on its site for $475, but has no specs there. The bottom line is that the buyer is fully responsible for determining what type of lens accessory this will work with. I will not take it back if it doesn't fit. The shade and filter holder cost me over $400. Asking price here is $200.
