interlaced footage looks strange on computer screen

I'm working with interlaced footage, Davinci 8.
On the SDI output it looks OK. In the Viewer its wavy, displaying lines, etc. Is there a way to solve this?
(I checked "Enable video field processing" if that matters)

I got a timeline recently that had 23.98P material improperly ingested from pulldown removal that had mixed segmentation every fourth frame. Interlace. What a mess. But it 'should' look a little weird on a progressive monitor. Can you invoke a 'remove jitter' preference?
