Is there away to record video from JVC GY-100u camera and have the video go straight to a computer(mac or pc) using Final Cut 7 or Premiere)? I still want to record video on sdhc disc but would like to capture the video straight into the editing software.

Kenneth,

Yes, it is pretty simple in Final Cut Pro and it should be with Premiere as well. As the clips are simply files, its just a matter of importing them into your NLE.

Unless you're talking about capturing while you're shooting the video. If that's what you're attempting to do then it gets a little trickier. You'll need a capture card that can pull the feed in off of your camera's HDMI output and then capture in your NLE real time (capture now in FCP, "live capture" in premiere pro). I believe Matrox & Black Magic Design both have cards that will do this.

"Whether you think you can or can't, you're right."
