This months meeting "the finishing Touches, Sound and Color"
We’ll take a look at some workflows and ideas for getting the best out your project through Sound and Color. What are some best practices workflows for sending your shows to a color or sound session, what are some ways you can improved the process before it gets to that end stage. We’ll also see some tips and tricks on the sound side to deal with common issues like wind and background noise.
For Davinci Resolve, we’re proud to have David Catt joining us. He’s one of the original designers of the software and an Atlanta resident. Ron Anderson is a long time colorist who’s most well known locally for his work at CineFilm.
If you have a shot you would like to see David or Ron work on during the demo, please send us a JPEG still image of the scene. Got something really in bad shape that you have no idea how to correct? Want to see how to turn your gorgeous sunlit shot into a horror flick? Just want to see how David or Ron would enhance your scene? Send your images to walter (at) atlantacutters.com. Please make them at least 1920 x 1080 in size if you can and keep them to 72dpi. If not, we’ll scale them up before the meeting.
For Sound, local composer and sound designer Patrick Belden will be joining us. If you watch “Good Eats with Alton Brown” on the Food Network, you’ve heard his work as he has done the entire run of the series both creating all the original music and doing the sound mix.
For good Color you also need to understand what you’re looking at on the monitor and for that, Bram Desmet from Flanders Scientific will be presenting a short primer on color space and what you need to look for your in your reference monitor.
