I am experiencing this multi-color artifacting on the both the capture and and the internal display for my Sony VX1000. Does anyone have any idea on what would cause this or should I just call the repair guy?

Could be a blown CCD chip in the camera. Although the camera is a bit old, this can be taken care of by a service center.
