Sony HDV audio digitizing problem
by nancy hanna on Oct 30, 2009 at 3:16:10 pm

I've been using my deck to digitize into fcp for over a year. All the sudden I'm having audio drop out issues. Every 5-10 the audio is dropping. When I digitize from my camera the audio is fine. How can I get my deck working again? IN/OUT REC HDV/DV SEL is on 'auto.' i . LINK set on ON. I'm working in standard DV. I've talked w/ Sony. Reset the deck a couple times.

If you are working in DV set the HDV/DV sel to DV vice auto and see if that makes a difference, a minor tape hit may make it try to switch audio modes. also make sure the inside of the transport is clean, if you have been using it for a while tape dust and debris can accumulate and also clean the heads if you haven't already

When you are taking video from the tape you are basically transfering it not digitizing, it already in a digital format
