PD150 problem, image not sharp, maybe setup issue
by Ben Edwards on Oct 30, 2009 at 1:43:24 pm

I purchased a used PD150 a few months ago. It was in immaculate condition with low hours. Apparently it had only been used to conduct interviews inside.

The problem is it seems to be producing slightly soft images (not really out of focus, just not very sharp). I recently did a 2 camera shoot with thePD150 and my old VX1000. When I looked at the footage although the PD150 worked a lot better in low light the VX1000 image was noticeably sharper.

Any ideas? Does the camera need servicing or maybe it is not set up correctly?

Regards,
Ben

Were you using manual focus or auto?
Have you checked the lens? take a penlight and shine it into the lens and see if the is a film appearing on any of the internal lens surfaces
