SonyDCR-VX2000 Microphone

My microphone cracked off, and the ribbon cable is broke. Where can i get a part to replace this, or should I just buy a 3rd party shotgun mike?? Recomendations please.

I think that the red flashing light indicating recording is on the microphone, so guessing that I sould lose that with a 3rd party microphone.

If you want to use a separate mic, Nady has the CM-2 stereo,with a Azden shockmount, it makes a decent on cam mic, or Rode has stereo and shotgun mics for camcorder mounting
