Sony DCR VX-2000 tape(jammed) won't eject, need ideas fast.

Hello, I have a Sony DCR-VX2000. My outer layer of my eject works properly, the inner layer pops out but the tape will only come out 1/4 of the way. It's locked into the camera. I'm really short on cash to get it repaired at the moment and I have a documentary I'm suppose to be filming in a week.

If the tape is stuck that bad, then your camera needs repair. Even if you get it out somehow, what's to say the next tape won't suffer the same fate? I understand the $$ issue involved, but what will it cost to blow the documentary shoot next week?

I have 3 of those cameras, one is about 8 years old and have never had a stuck tape, this is not a normal occurrence.

Put it in VCR mode and try to rewind or FF (Just a guess. It worked with JVC for me). Then, eject. jk
