So I came into work this morning to find that my Sony DV deck has decided to be difficult today. It is giving me an error of 02-603 and tells me to eject the tape and inform service of the error. Upon trying to eject the tape it says the tape cannont be ejected. Any ideas of what the error is and how to get the tape out before I send it off for repairs (assuming I have to send it off).

turn off the recorder, un-plug for about 10min, plug in hold down eject button and turn power on.

As Blast1 says, the power cord MUST be removed as the 'power' switch is just a software scanned button and the VTR is just in low-power state when 'switched-off'.
