mov to mkv conversion for mac

Hi, I wonder if anyone can recommend what software I could buy to convert a movie I made on fcp that is an MOV file into an MKV file?

I have tried 7 free trial downloads that say they can do this, but when I try to open the newly made MKV file up using Quicktime (with Perian), I just get the audio opening.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Have you tried using vlc to play the files? I don't think I would trust QuickTime to play them easily. MacPorts to make 'em.

Thanks Todd, yes... the converted file played with VLC. So I will buy the iSky video converter.
