 | Transparent bar behind lower third text
by Marc Morel on Oct 1, 2012 at 2:50:37 pm |
Good morning all,
I'm presently subtitling a clip and need a simple transparent black bar behind my lower third white text. How can I achieve this? I've tried putting a rectangle "shape" from the Generators/Elements browser but the process is long and difficult to adjust and I don't see a transparency setting. Please tell me I'm missing something.
All insights, even RTFM suggestions would be respectfully accepted,
Marc

There's a FM? You can use the rectangle or black solid in the generators. Then in the inspector adjust the opacity, under video. If using a black solid you would also adjust the crop there to taste.

Hi,
Thanks Brett. I'm slowly getting there. I think I was just hoping for a magic tick box I had forgotten somewhere that would do that for me.
Thanks again,
Marc

It's a magic slider I guess.

Once you get a lower third box and text you like, simply copy and paste when you need to re-use it, then you can go in and readjust type or parameters, this speeds things up. You don't need to re-create each time.
