Kannan RaghavanError 9400

I'm running OS Lion on a 8 core MacPro with FCP, PrPro, Avid and Quadro 4000 installed. I've been getting this error every time I launch Movie Recorder after starting the Mac. I'll have to reset the video and audio settings/inputs every time. There's no problem if I quit and come back to MovieRecorder once again, only after Mac restarts. The error message is " Trouble restoring settings (Error - 9400)" I can't find Movie Recorder or QT preferences, probably it's a Lion thing. Please help!

Hey Kannan,

I don't have an answer for this thread, but I was wondering if you solved your problem on this post http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/45/882633 and if so what you had to do, I am having the same issue with trying to install 5.5.3 on my Mac Pro.

Hello Nathan, after trying a million things, the only thing that worked was a clean re-install. Installed the OS again, then MC and then the rest. Worked like a treat.

The error code means "noDeviceForChannel." It means that you have two channels configured to access the same card or audio device. If you have an application set to grab a device (videocard) on startup, and then try to run another application (in this case MovieRecorder) the second application cannot use the device that is already being used. It is not a Lion thing. Lion is supported by all Softron applications. Check that you do not have another application using the device.
