Hey all,

I'm just starting out in my color grading career and I need advice on a system. Ill be doing mostly low budget, indie and student films for the foreseeable future. Thus, money is an limiting factor. I'll be using Davinci Resolve from my 17" MacBook Pro, 2.4GHz Quad Core with 8GB RAM.

Is it possible to attach a Cubix Xpander to a MBP? If so, what kind of result should I expect? Fast or slow?

Also, what sort of graphics cards do I need?

Are there any limitations, if so, what are they?

Thanks a lot!

Let me turn this one around for you. If there is a cubix for expresscard slots then it will only run at x1. If there isn't magma can help you but you still have the same limitation. Check out thunderbolt pic expanders. This will give you x5 pci express 1.0 speeds. Not much better but wait a year
