I am trying to find something that will allow me to have 3 media players playing back sychronized video files (3 different angles of the same thing)and have a 4th media player that will play the footage from what ever smaller media player is picked. I hope this makes sense. Can Director do this or does anyone know of a product that can do this?

Yes, no problem whatsoever.
Do you want to make a multicam editor?
(that has been done before...)

Bouke,

Thanks for info. Hopefully now I can get a trial version and start playing around. I don't exactly want to make a multicam editor, but then again, maybe that's what this is. Here's the project - I have fooatge of a surgery from 3 cameras that will be used for training. Training will be delivered online. They want to be able to have the 3 camera views playing insync and also allow people to choose what view they want to view bigger in a 4th player. There will be a voice over with this too. Nothing like adding compexity. There are some limitations too. We have a WMS server but not a Flash server.

well, 3 channels of video and 1 channel of sound in one Quicktime,
and with SetTrackEnabled you are done.
This however requires the end user to have Quicktime installed.
If that is no problem, it's very easy.

I would suggest you outsource it, will be cheaper than buying a copy of Director.

hth,

Bouke
