Create an apple "burn folder"

Howdy and thanks in advance.
I've created a program that uses the firefly xtra to burn files to a CD. This xtra only works on Windows. My client would like burning functionality on Mac as well. From what I can tell there isn't an xtra that can burn CDs on a mac nor can I find any other way to directly burn files on a mac using Director.
The approach I'm considering is to create a "burn folder" on the mac users desktop and giving them instructions on how to do it themselves. It looks like I might be able to create that folder with Applescript, but I need this to all happen from the push of a button in my Director projector. Maybe there's a way to talk directly to Terminal from Director?
Can anyone offer some advice on either:
1. How to create a burn folder (xtra? lingo? Xtra that speaks Applescript?)
2. An xtra that can burn a data CD on mac?
3. Somehow talk to Terminal or use Applescript to make this work?
4. Any other way I should be going about this?
Thanks again!
