I think the current feature set satisfies about 3/4 of the actual users of FCP 7. Those not making a living from it. If you were Apple, and knew there was no way every feature of FCP 7 would be included in FCP X in time for this first release, you'd choose the features that the most people need, not the minority, right? Then fill in the blanks with updates and upgrades... That is exactly what happened IMHO. Hey, they don't have to get to a "gold master" any more... they can upload new software daily if they wanted to. Feature by feature rather than complete sets of features like they were forced to do between FCP 6 and 7... all that's gone now with the App Store distribution model. This is why Apple says the development will go faster than before I think.
