What you might want to do is go buy the outside spray that you hook up to a hose. The kind that covers their smell and also has a smell they don't like.

Once a dog marks their spot they keep coming back so the spray is good.

You won't have to do the whole yard (you may have your own dog) just the part near the sidewalk.

People are not for the most park going to walk their dog all the way into the middle of your yard.

Spray it, and be done with it.
