New Final Cut X (10.0.3) often pauses a second before timeline playback

I was very excited to try out the new version that "shipped" today. I installed it, launched it, and found that when I position the playhead on the timeline, and hit space bar to play, there's often a full 1 second pause before playback actually starts.

This is on a 2.93Ghz 8 core Mac Pro running Snow Leopard with 32GB Ram and an 8 drive MiniSAS raid that easily gets 400MB/s reads.

The last thing I need is more lagginess from this app. I've launched it a few times and each time I encounter the issue on multiple projects. I don't think this happened under 10.0.2.

Anyone else noticing this?

Is it pausing when you have a clip in just the primary, or when you have connected clips as well. The only time I see a slight lag is when there are connected clips.
