I'm about to digitize close to 500 shows, from betacam tapes to a digital format. Each show is around 50 minutes.
If I digitize it using uncompressed 8-bit, I'm looking at around 60gb per show.
I'm using older (7years old) blackmagic card for that, using final cut to capture it,
What would be a better way of archiving those shows digitally, not loosing quality but going down in GB size.

Apple ProRes 422 (either standard or LT). This will be a significant savings in file size without noticeable compression artifacts for your footage.
