Commotion 3.11 display problem
by Paul Nixon on Nov 30, 2005 at 6:33:15 pm

Hi folks,

I changed my system from an Athlon 2500+ to an A64x2 3800+ and from a Radeon 9800Pro AGP to a Radeon X550 PCIe, and I'm having a real problem with flicker on the Commotion tool boxes/buttons. OS is Win2k. I had some mild flicker in the past with the 9800Pro but nothing like this. Display is set for 1280x1024x32bpp@75Hz. It's also very unstable now.

If you need more info, let me know.

Recommendations?

Thanks,

Paul Nixon

Since we're a mac shop, the only fix I ever give for Windows is the same... try going to your QT control panel and switch it to "GDI Safe Mode". Seems to fix most issues on Windows.

I did as you suggested and it is rock solid now. Many, many thanks! Do you know if this has anything to do with, as I recall, some sort of incompatibility with >QT5?

It's just a simple fact that Puffin never had time to iron all of the bugs out of the Windows version, and Pinnacle never bothered updating it.

I think Microsoft is in the same boat. ;-)

I can't complain - I use what I have available.

Thanks again...
