I am really enjoying starting to build effective (and really cool) things for my customer's websites in After Effects. I am finding through research how important having a dedicated compression program is to getting video to look good on the web.

I am interested in getting opinions on how Apple Compressor compares to Sorenson Squeeze. I already own Compressor and would prefer not to drop the cash on Sorenson right now if Apple Compressor can do the job. Please let me know your thoughts on how similar they are and the trade offs.

I always appreciate the amazing knowledge out there in Cowland and look forward to hearing your opinions.

Thank you!

Will Heine

Will, I prefer Squeeze as it is independent of many of the format wars that go on with video and audio compression, as they include most every format. Also, very very easy to use. Might be worth a download and trial. http://www.sorensonmedia.com/video-encoding/

Compressor is very good if you are formatting for HTML5 and other newer web technologies. It is an extremely easy to use product as well.

If you find yourself in need of many different audio and video formats, Squeeze is the way to go.

Take care,
Jonathan

I have my copy of Squeeze 7 for sale. $599. Awesome software just no longer needed in my workflow. Cheers.
