Software to drive five HD streams from a Computer to five monitors

hi there,

sure this is the wrong sub-forum but please point me in the right direction.

i need to load five mpegs (or whatever format?) onto a PC to drive five HD monitors.

is there software which can do this? am i restricted to one stream per machine/graphics card?

is that too much data in the pipeline? will i be restricted to something like 1024x576?

do i need to hire dedicated hardware?
