Looking for a free .cda to .mp3 converter

Hi,
I am looking forward to get a free CD(file format .cda) to MP3 converter. This is to insert the MP3 audio to time line in Adobe PPro CS4. Looking forward the website details to download. Thx.

Good morning Pushpanatha,

iTunes works very well and very quickly for me. Choose bit rate. Import CD as MP3, drag songs from iTunes directory to the desktop. Done.

Thx for the info..much appreciated...I tried the way u said. It was very difficult me to do it...I would appreciate if u could let me know step by step procedure..I have Itune Version 9.0

Pusha,

Start iTunes. Set the mp3 import rate in preferences. Put CD in drive. When iTunes asks if you want to import the tracks say yes. Find cuts in iTunes directory. Drag to desktop. Import where ever you want.

I'm not iTunes tech support. Keep at it. You'll get it.

On Itunes, How can I get the list of play list (on .cda file extension) to the Artwork/Name window?? Thx.

you don't need a playlist to convert.

There are scores of CD rippers available, many of them free. Google will reveal way more than you can use.

MP3 is not a recommended format for production as it is a lossy format. It is a shame to take a perfectly find uncompressed CD track, compress it into MP3, loose a significant part of the content and then un-compress it back into the timeline. Completely avoidable.

Hi Richard, Thx 4 ur kind advice...So what shall I do ?? Do u recommend anything I have to do..I have .cda file extension music on CD which I wanted to put them on APPro CS4 time line..Can u recommend any good prgram I can purchase or down load for that purpose?? Any website I could access or recommend?? Ur help is much appreciated. Thx...Pushpa

Simply rip the CD track to WAV and avoid the MP3 compression.

When I did a Google search for: CD ripper it returned over 8.5 million hits, including many excellent candidates right on the first page. There is no shortage of CD ripper applications, including no shortage of free ones.
