Channel 3 & 4 in desktop player
by Scott Lodwick on Jul 15, 2009 at 8:12:21 pm

Hey all,

I have recently been given a number of .mov files encoded with 4 channels of audio. 1 & 2 are the audio mix for the video, 3 & 4 are V.O. tracks. How can I listen to 3 & 4 in a desktop player, such as Quicktime or WMV? I know Quicktime Pro supports up to 24 channels of audio, but I have no idea how I can select which channels I want to hear.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

No regrets! Did you access the channels in Quicktime Properties/Audio or do something else?

exactly, window/ movie properties (or ctrl + j) and from the audio tab I was able to isolate the tracks w/ the channel balance from Soundtrack 1 and 2, which housed channels 1 &2 and 3 & 4 respectivly. Thanks for the reply and glad to be on the forums.
