The Rode VideoMic is great for the price as a camera mounted mic. It is a mono mic that plugs into the mini TRS stereo jack on a camera. It feeds both inputs.
If your camera does not have XLR inputs, this is a possibility, BUT,
the best way to mic interviews is NOT with a camera mounted mic. You need to get closer, much closer.
You can get an extender cable for the VideoMic, but it is unbalanced and the longer the cable, the greaterthe possibility of interference.
This is a prosumer piece of gear that can work well but it has limitations. Rode also sells a mini TRS to XLR adapter and a dead cat for wind protection. BOth work well.
