Sony pd 150
Live music video
XLR line from the mixing board was hooked to my pd150 but I had the input set as mic instead of line in. The music is very distorted because of my screwup but is there anything I can do to fix it?
any third party apps that can possibly repair it..... or am I just screwed?
The levels were set right but as I understand it, I was just recording a clipped signal
at the proper level. (Cause I wasn't wearing my headphones....DUH)

Anything I can do to salvage it??????

[c johnston] "or am I just screwed?"

Sorry, but that's about the size of it.
Once its clipped, YOU'RE clipped.

Use this as a reminder that, when recording video with sound, if your eyes are looking at the viewfinder, you ears need to be listening to headphones.

I can't tell you how many times, even with a "sound-check" before the event, the audio gets "fixed" by someone being "helpful" during the shoot (or the cable comes loose, or the mic falls down, or...)

Even more than VIDEO, many things can go wrong with the AUDIO that just can't be fixed in post.

[Tig Coates] "Clipped Peak Restoration? as part of noise reduction software

There are clipped peaks and then there are CLIPPED PEAKS!!!
Hard to say what can and can't be "repaired" from out here in the vast COW pasture.

Its more often the case than not to assume that a LINE-level feeding into a MIC input is pretty much destroyed.
(The noise-level alone is usually enough to wreck the track.)
