This is the idea.
1.download woowave and other Sync app.
2. Test some footage With both of them.
3.upload results and link to proxy so everyone can verify the test.

It doesn't have to be a lot. Few shots especially if they are difficult ones would be great :)

Limitations:

1. Windows 32 2.4GB limit(around 1.5-2 hours limit per shot)

2.all codecs that ffmpeg (LGPL)supports . If you want more, you have to download FFMPEG (GPL) yourself and replace the existing ffmpeg( on Windows ffmpeg.exe is found in install folder, on mac ffmpeg is found in the root of your app bundle-right click 'show package contents')

3.XML is saved in a folder (on windows it's in install folder, on mac it's on the desktop)

4.It doesn't work on less than CS6 Premiere( you can though import this file in CS6 and export it for CS5 roundtrip)

5. FCP X has limitation on spaces in filenames(spaces in filepaths are OK)

6. Vegas support is via EDL for each sequence.


7. Default mode is camera/recorder agnostic (Syncs ALL 2 ALL) . If you'd like to speedup and get better accuracy you could separate the camera shots by using 'ONE CAMERA/RECORDER' toggle.
In music videos, you wouldn't want this.

8. If you experience any problems, please send us the log_file. The log file on mac is in the app budge -> right click ' show package contents' ->LOG folder. On Windows you have to CREATE 'LOG' named folder in the install folder and then it will save log files.

9.If the app crashes for some reason (codecs memory etc) , please go to your footage folder and check if there are some temp_WAV_files. These are extremely small and can help us recreate the problem and solve it quickly. You can upload these on sendspace or other ftp and send us the link.

10. If the sync results are not satisfactory, we could work with our customers to find the best algorithm tweaks that matches your requirements. We have done that many times.

We know that we may have some issues, but remember other apps at their first stages ?
So your feedback is precious.

I just tried PE3 and then learned about your program and am doing a test run right now on a 2 hour lecture. Where should I post my results? Or would you rather me post a portion of the video?

I run sony vegas on an i7, 16gb, custom built workhorse. :)

As soon as I hit send on my last post, it crashed. C++ errors. Bummer.

I'll probably go with Plural Eyes, but if you tell me how to send my error log file I'll do so and help test your software.

Woowave for Windows has just been updated to 64bit support. Please reinstall. Now it should work with long files as in your case of 3 hour lecture :)
