Have they ever had it in a .mov container?
I'm not seeing anything that says you can stick the HD422 into a .mov.
You might want to also ask over on the Sony website if a .MOV container will support the hd422 footage.
The only XDCAM that I see that can be used in a .mov is a JVC's XDCAM EX.

I am pretty sure that the.mov xdcam is MAC only. Just like their HDV and apple intermediate codec.

It would be all.mov xdcam ,apple hdv and apple intermediate codecs.
xdcam is ingested into final cut 7 using the log and capture and it is
converted to prores or apple xdcam.mov before it is put into the timeline. ****I did do a test and although quicktime cannot play the files you can input the .mov xdcam files into Premiere CS6 on the PC and they will play but only in Premiere and AfterEffects.CS6. Don't know about CS5.

Hi there,
You cannot export XDCAM as a .mov unless you are a) on a Mac b) have FCP or similar loaded onto the system. If you're on Windows, I can't think of anything off the top of my head.
Happy Labor Day,
