Newbie to Premiere Pro CS6, making the switch from FCP 7. I recorded audio on a separate source, then synced it to my original video/audio clips with PluralEyes. I unlinked my original audio and video clips by selecting Clip --> Unlink. I deleted my original audio clips and now want to link my synced audio clips that were recorded on a separate source. I don't see a Clip --> Link option. That option only appears when you unlink your original audio/video clips and then want to link them again. How do you link a video clip and a separate audio clip? In FCP it was just Command + L for linking and unlinking. I tried Clip --> Merge Clips, but that just duplicates my clips and places them back in my project. Is there a simpler way?

Do you have the video and audio both selected? Are they both on unlocked tracks? You should have the link option.

Okay, this was weird. I had both the video and audio tracks selected, but my only option was "unlink" even though they were never linked. I selected "unlink" anyway, then selected them both again and now have the "link" menu option available. I created the shortcut "Command + L" so it operates like FCP now. Still would be nice if you could link multiple clips at the same time, but that's how it was with FCP too. I'm sure there's a reason...

The merge clips command you mentioned earlier is what you want to use. It essentially creates a virtual clip of both video and audio together and is specifically designed for double system sound.

"Linking" multiple clips is best accomplished by simply nesting sequences.

That's because the audio tracks were linked to each other. Once you unlinked them from each other, you could link all of them together with the video. I wish it wasn't that way, but it is.
