I'm having big problems with working in Premiere CS4 and the MXF files from a Focus Enhancements drive. Basically, all of the files are coming in as separate files. You mean to tell me, that I have to take each audio file and match them up with the coresponding video clip?

I ran the Organize P2 on the drive, but that didn't seem to work, I guess. Since there are 4 channels of audio, IF the clips and some do, come in together, it's not the proper audio channels. I recorded some interviews using an overhead shotgun mic. The audio that comes in sounds like the audio recorded from the built-in camera mics with all of the live acustic.

What the heck is going on here? There has to be a better way to import this crap!!

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,

You only need to import the files inside the video folder. They should import with all 4 channels of audio. Not sure about the organize P2, I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot stick...

You can select all the files after they' ve been imported and use the audio mapping menu to choose the channels you want to use.

Vince, thanks and that much I know. The thing is, some of the footage imports with audio attached and some does not. Are you supposed to "organize" P2 before you shoot or after?

I can't figure out why some clips have audio attached and all of the others are all separated. I'm beginning to hate this drive! I may go back to buying P2 cards...when I can afford them that is!
