Hi Friends. I have a quick question for you. I recently made the switch from FCP7 to Premiere Pro. I heard everyone raving about it and I figured it was time to make the switch after Apple botched FCPX.

I'm running into problems though. I'm currently trying to edit my documentary and I'm encountering lots of lag when playing my timeline. Especially I have a couple of clips stacked up on top of each other. I'm currently working with three formats. (Canon DSLR, AVCHD from a Panasonic HMC150, and GoPro footage.)

I'm finding it very annoying and figured I would ask you guys if you have any suggestions on how to make things run smoother.

This is something I've also encountered. I'm running off of a MacBook Pro as well and have recently began picking up projects that require editing in Premiere. Although I'm ecstatic about being able to edit footage natively and not having to store duplicates that have grown exponentially in size due to coding, I'm slowly dying inside at having such a slow response for playback.

Rendering hasn't helped either, it'll make it smoother for the first few seconds (even up to a minute, if I'm lucky) but after that, it's the same old story.

When I rendered things seemed to work great for me. I think I need a beefier computer. (Too bad I'm in grad school.) In summary, I miss FCP.

Any other thoughts and advice would be appreciated.
