MPG Video Imported into Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 is Blurrier Than Original MPG File. What do I need to to to keep the high quality of the original MPG video?

Are you sure that you're viewing it at full resolution? Premiere works with the original source media, so there should be zero difference in the media look.

Right, but are you viewing at full resolution? That's different than 100%. The 100% is on the left side of the window, but "full" or "1/2" is on the right. Make sure it's at "Full".

Yes, it is set to full on both the left and the right preview windows. And the sequence has the same settings as the imported .mpg clip. After I import the .mpg files into the project media list and double-click to preview them, they are far less sharp than before the import.

If you mean 100% for the Monitor set it to FIT.

Does the Sequence Setting match the footage? If for instance you put a 320x240 clip into a 720x480 sequence, it will be blown up and won't look as good then

Have you tried outputting and seeing if the outputted file is similarly hazy?

Only thing I can thing at this point is to try to work with the clip on my system as a point of comparison. Otherwise Im all out of ideas as well.
