Hello all,

I just purchased Colorista II and love it.

However, the secondary keyer rarely works. It loads blank frames without previews. Totally useless.

Previous version with CS5.5 had this problem. I now have CS6 with MB 11.3.2.

In some projects (small projects) the keyer will load but it will show the wrong frame. It seems to show a frame approx 1 sec ahead of the playhead.

I have a 2011 MBP with Lion. I really, really want Colorista to work for me but this is kind of a deal breaker. Is anyone else having this problem? I can't find much info on the web.

Thanks

Cassidy

I only tried it (being the keyer) once or twice before giving up but I experienced similar issues with the secondary keyer. I do use Colorista II a lot, but not that feature because, as you noted, it's pretty broken.

Our source material was AVCHD, I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

My source material is prores.

I'll get a ticket into Red Giant and see what they see. After digging around, I see more people with this problem. Seems crazy this bug has persisted for well over a year as far as I can tell.

Have you communicated this to Red Giant?

I've had this same problem ... incredibly annoying. This was with 4K R3D files. When I converted the 4K to CineForm 1080p, the keyer magically worked again. Definitely a significant bug ... especially if it's supposed to be a "professional" tool.

I've been having the same problem for quite awhile. Thought that the new version for CS6 would fix the issue, but no luck. This is a great tool, but I need it to be FULLY functional. I hope Red Giant can come up with a solution.

What about nesting your clip in a sequence?
Works for me...

I tried nesting to a stand alone sequence and still get the same blank frame regardless of how long the clip I'm trying to color correct is. Has anyone heard back from Red Giant? I'm new to the issue so I haven't submitted a ticket.

CS6 with all updates.
