Mac OS 10.6.8
Black Magic Intensity Pro - Desktop Video 9.5
Quadro 4000
CS6

Can someone please explain how to set up Mercury Transmit? The only way I can get external monitoring to work is to use a Blackmagic preset as was required before CS6.

Thanks

Hi Jim,

Under preferences>playback you should have a box that says Video Playback with a Blackmagic Playback option that you check.

Cheers,

Gerry

Thanks Gerry.

I do have that option checked, and I do get external monitoring as long as I set up a Blackmagic preset. My understanding of Mercury Transmit was that you didn't need to use a Blackmagic preset in order to get external monitoring, but that Premiere would take care of the linking regardless of which preset you are using. Maybe I'm confused?

Ok, I've got it working now... I think. When adding clips of different video frame sizes and aspect ratios to a sequence, as long as I select "Keep Sequence Settings" when the Clip Mismatch Warning window pops up external monitoring keeps working. But if I make a new sequence from a clip that doesn't match the project settings (or I select "Change Sequence Settings" in the Clip Mismatch Warning) external monitoring disappears. I obviously did not understand Mercury Transmit, but at least I've got a handle on it now.
