Premiere cs6 audio sync
by Steve Grimes on May 7, 2012 at 8:53:03 pm
Is there still no way to have premiere automatically sync video to a separate recorded high quality audio track inside of premiere with the new release of cs6? I figured this was no brainer feature #1, yet I can't find any mention of it. It seems the only thing I can find is a similar functionality inside of audition which requires round tripping?

What the heck? This feature was announced at MAX 2011 wasn't it? One of the points I've been making to encourage others to move to Premiere was for this. I was looking forward to uninstalling Plural Eyes.

Yeah, I remember that too. But watch the video. The engineer type guy that can barely speak exports xml, then opens terminal and types in some code, then imports the data back into Premiere. He's running 5.5 FWIW I think. Everybody cheers. But what the heck did we just see? I think it's just a "hey look what we're working on" thing. Ridiculous really.
FCP X has everyone beat on this. I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to duplicate a multi cam clip I recently made in X in CS6. First off, I can't even sync the wav from the zoom. I have the wav, and two 5D camera shots. The wav is one long file, and the 5Ds are 2-3 clips each. In FCP X I simply highlight all 6-7 clips (including the wav) and choose make multi clip. In mere moments I have a multi clip. If you don't label the angles right you'll have to step into the clip and move the clips onto the correct tracks. In this example the multi clip ends up with 7 angles. The audio, and the 6 video clips. I quickly move the related angles onto the same track and delete the now 4 blank tracks. Turn off the audio for the 5D tracks and drop the thing in a timeline and go. I've said it before, the power of X is nuts. It just needs to add back all the major extras and norms and fix that freaking timeline interface or at least make magnetics optional.

That's some bullshit right there. I was all stoked to be able to bypass Plural Eyes. The more I use Premiere the more I am starting to hate it. Soooo clunky.

Hi there
I don't wanna look as if I was advertising our product, but please do check the WooWave WoOSync Pro. We believe that we have created something much better and faster than Plural Eyes.
We would appreciate if you have some remarks and suggestions so we can make it even better.
this is the site : http://www.woowave.com
it would be nice if someone wrote a review , as we have just released it.(all two of us) :)

You may not want to look like you're advertising, but you clearly are. :)
My feedback:
1. You need a better intro video. No voice over is just creepy.
2. At a quick look I can't see why as someone who has paid for PluralEyes I would buy this. Is there any reason? For people without PluralEyes the price is the biggest selling point, so that should be the first thing people see when they visit your site.
3. You can buy a great wordpress theme for $50. Your site currently doesn't inspire consumer confidence.

Crossgrade could encourage people but it's not going to be the deciding factor, you still need to make people realise why/how it's better than PluralEyes. If it's not actually better, that's fine because you are cheaper, just make that REALLY clear on the website.
Re: Premiere cs6 audio sync by Anthony Dinham on Aug 28, 2012 at 9:48:21 am
By 'really clear', I mean make the fact that you charge only $50 really clear, then show how great it does the job (ie a video that gets to the point fast and has a voice over).
If you want any help with an affordable video, google me and shoot me an email. :)

Accepting your suggestions :
1.price is on the first page now
2.Video is a bit changed, I hate this screengrab software, so will connect hdsdi in studio and record it properly with voiceover.

for all those willing to get WooWave for free, check out this video. All you need to do is to create something similar , it doesnt really matter if you praise WooWave or criticise , as long as you're honest and make it fair and transparent by providing the footage used so everyone can recreate the tests :)
fair and transparent. Thats what WooWave is about when it comes to advertising.

woowave is on sale . 70% off. We would appreciate if you could provide footage samples on which Woowave has hard time synchronizing in comparison to Plural Eyes. We are desperately looking for ways to improve. Feedback is crucial.

can you send me a zip of the SYNCED folder?
Woowave Sync Pro uses FFmpeg as audio extraction engine. Can you check if your files are compatible with ffmpeg? The version bundled with Woowave is LGPL ffmpeg version so you may try to replace it with GPL for full codec support. All you need to do is to change the ffmpeg.exe with latest build. There are static builds on the internet, and the latest can be found on: http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/
Another explanation may be if some of the files are ultra short(2-3 sec) or containing mute channels.
I am sure that I will find what causes this in your case if you send me the SYNCED folder as zip file. I am the developer of Woowave.
