Exporting individual clips
by John Brookhouse on Sep 23, 2009 at 7:59:42 pm

I have a 10 minute video that I need to pull a bunch of 10 second files out of. Is there some way to tell Premiere Pro/Encoder to create a separate file out of each clip on a timeline in lieu of one long file that includes all of them?

Thanks in advance for your help!

John

Well sort of...for CS4 only
Put your 10 min clip into the source window. Select in/out points for the first 10 second clip and insert that to an empty sequence. File>Export>Media
Choose your export settings and click OK sending that sequence to the Encoder Que.

File>New>Sequence
Repeat the above steps 9 more times.

When done fire up the encoder.

Thanks for the info! That's actually the way that I've been doing it, but it's a lot of extra steps. I was just hoping for some check mark I could make to tell Encoder and/or Premiere Pro to treat each clip as it's own file.

Thanks again!
