Sound Forge won't play Prem 48k audio...
by Jerry Cast on Jun 9, 2009 at 3:29:29 pm

Hi,
When I choose "Edit Original" from Adobe Premier Pro CS3 video editing software, Sound Forge 9 opens automatically because I have .wav files associated with Sound Forge. That's fine.

But, I can't play back the file as Sound Forge says it's an unsupported format.

I need to hear the file to edit it and was wondering if there's a setting to fix this.

The Sony Sound Forge forum hasn't had any replies to this problem.

In case you are wondering why I don't just use Soundbooth, I do, for fades and stuff like that. But, when I have a stereo audio file that is weaker (smaller .wav file) on one side and I want to make it bigger and even it out, only Sound Forge has the Channel Coverter that has a preset to do this quickly. I saw a channel something or another in Sound Booth but can't get it to do the same thing, unless I'm missing something.

Thanks.
