Adobe and youtube
by Matthew LaMond on Aug 20, 2008 at 11:45:18 pm

2 things!

First
Whats the best export codec and settings to use to upload a video to youtube?

Second
Recently i have been exporting a video as Microsoft DV AVI and everything is fine. then i stick it into Divx Converter to compress it alot and not lose quality. It worked fine for me on friday but then today i exported the video again as a DV AVI and then used Divx Converter and right in the middle of my video i have a Still image in the video. well divx is just cutting out the still after a second and going back to the video and throwing my audio off by 10 seconds. HOWEVER i used the old clip through divx and didnt change a setting and it worked just fine. so i am doing something wrong in the exporting in Adobe. anyone have any ideas?

That is an oxymoron. Compression with DivX is lossy. You must have changed something.

I have a good result with File>Export>AdobeMedia Encoder
Format: Macromedia Flash Video (FLV)
Preset: Custom
Frame width: 320
Frame height 240

See:

Good luck

Awesome video but the audio is particularly amazing. Could you share what settings you used for the audio with your flash.

Thanks;

Dan

In PremierePro2 I used Flash 8-High Quality setting. There are no audiosettings but in the Audiocodec FlashVideo, MP3 and audio data rate 128 bps (stereo) are mentioned.

The audio quality starts with the recording. We used a CD recording of this group. With 2 cameras the Bluegrass Boogiemen playbacked 8 times the tune. The edit is done with 16 tracks for the 16 camera positions.
