PP-CS3 mpeg-4 audio drop
by Brian Reitz on May 17, 2008 at 12:50:29 am

I am using Premier Pro CS3 and was asked to edit 4 mini DVD’s from a school event. I converted the VOB files with TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress into avi files, but so large made PP run very slow. I then converted to MPEG-4 and I imported that into PP. However when it gets around 8-12 minuets into the video the audio drops out completely. I have checked the original, and there are no audio problems. Is there a setting that I am over looking? They all seem to kill the audio at around the same time. Thanks for your help, Brian

Mpeg 4 files are not suitable for editing...at least in CS3. Convert your VOB files into DV.avi (type 2).
