Hello
i was wondering - sometimes i get into the case where i have a sequence that might be 2 min or so, then realize i want to shorten a clip that is early in the sequence. that means i have to select all the clips after that clip and drag them over.

Use the Ripple tool (shortcut B). You can shortcut to this tool while using the selection arrow, hold the control key and the icon when you move close to a clip edge will look like a fatter version of it without holding the control key. This fatter looking icon is the Ripple tool, it will push away and pull in the clip, making it either longer or shorted depending on your direction and then push away or pull in the clips to the opposite side you move to compensate therefore you never get any gaps.
