Im having to edit .wmv files in Premier. When i drag and drop the clips into the timeline, it automatically puts the audio track into channel 5. Even if i unlink the audio from the video i cant move it to another channel. When i bring in a second or third clip, it continues to drop the audio into the fith channel. I need to be able to use more than one audio channel for this project.
Can anyone suggest a work around for this? I dont want to have to convert all my .wmv clips to another format as im against the clock a bit on this one.

It appears that the default audio layer type (mono/stereo/5.1 or mono as stereo) is in conflict with your WMV. So it adds a new layer underneath the one's already there. ie: you have 4 audio layers that are stereo, but the WMV audio is Mono. it will add another mono audio layer underneath the 4 stereo tracks. Check the icon for the type of audio layer it is. That's probably what's happening? Keep editing...
