Sync Issues
by Kyle Conner on May 6, 2008 at 8:14:25 pm

I imported a one hour 3 minute video. On the tape, the sync is fine, but once it's digitized, it gets more and more out of sync as the video goes on. I noticed in the properties that the project audio sample is 48000hz with a 32 bit floating point, but the source audio is 32000 hz with a 16 bit. Could that be my problem? If so, how can I change it. If that isn't the issue, any reason why this could be? The frame rate for both the project and capture is set to 29.97.

I am having this problem too - I was capturing fine for years with Adobe Premiere 6.5... but then suddenly all my A/V captures get progressively more and more out-of-sync as they go on. Once it goes over 10 minutes, it's noticeably, once it's at an hour into the captured video, it's unwatchable!

I upgraded to Premiere Pro 2.0 and the problem persists! I've tried capturing in both non-drop and drop-frame modes... I've tried 32000 and 48000 khz audio... and NOTHING works!

Strangely enough it plays back fine in Windows Media Player in perfect sync.

...But I can't DO anything with it! As soon as I take the AVI file into Encore or Premiere, it's out of sync again!!! It sounds like I'm not the only one... is there a reason for this?
