Does premiere auto resize quicktime movies?

I've found this really strange thing, and maybe someone knows something about it or can try the same test on your own computers:
1. I took a quicktime video that was NTSC size 720x480 0.9 aspect ratio
2. I created a premiere project with these settings and imported the video no problem.
3. I opened the exact same video in quicktime and go to view>halfsize, then save with a different file name.
4. I import this new video in premiere and it comes in at half size.
So my question is, does quicktime do something to the file that confuses premiere, forcing it to scale the video to the size quicktime was displaying it and ignoring its real size?
I did the same thing but set quicktime to view>double size, then save. Again, premiere brought it in and thinks it is double sized. It actually scales up or down depending on quicktimes view size when it was saved, NOT on its real size. Why does this happen? Is there a setting in premiere that must be set so that it it doesn't rescale quicktime movies like this? Or am I loosing my mind cause it is really wierd!

Not qualified to diagnose that, but I cannot duplicate your concern. I opened a DV.avi file in QT Pro, View=half size and then exported it as DV.mov and imported the resulting file into Premiere...all is well at 720x480.
