I need to use a different DVD drive than the one which was installed in the computer originally. So when I put in this new one, PP2.0 won't recognize it's existence. I can click the 'rescan' button until I am blue in the face and it doesn't change a thing. Status says "No Burners Detected".
Nero has no problems seeing it and WinXP sees it just fine.
Does Adobe have some function in it's software program to stop allowing you to use a different burner than the one which was installed during the software installation? This is an adobe issue since WinXP and all other programs have no problem with the different burners.
any ideas?
I have tried a BENQ 1625 and a new Pioneer 212. (my old one which is presently tied up was/is a pioneer 109.) PP1.5 sees all 3 burners without a problem (different system, exact same hardware though)
WTF?????

many thanks in advance!!!

Here is an Adobe link that may help, you might have to refresh the DVD list in the registry

Thanks after much searching on adobe's forum and ppro.wiki (I guess) it seems the registry lacked a 'lowerfilters' line. I did a 'reinstalled/repaired' and it burns now.
Now I am afraid to reinstall Nero, thinking it might mess the registry as the notes, I read, mentioned.

Many thanks
